This is just a reminder that we WILL be in school this Monday, February 16th .
Have a great weekend- Happy Valentines Day!
Attention: After school parents, please don't forget to leave spaces for our buses to park in the afternoon. If you pick your child up from after school please park to the right of that sidewalk that goes to the gym. Your help is appreciated.
We just wanted to send out a few friendly reminders as the next two days will be very busy at Heartland.
1. All visitors that come to the school must present ID and state the reason for their visit then they buzz in at the camera entry. We ID all visitors at all times as a safety practice and to ensure we are following state safety laws. Please know that if you can not present ID you may not be allowed in the building and someone will have to meet you at the door.
2. Kindness parties are this Friday. Your child's teacher has sent home information regarding each classes' parties. PLEASE NOTE- that we do not accept any flower or balloon deliveries. These items are not permitted on buses and our office is not equipped to hold these items. If you have items you are sending in for the party, feel free to send those in with your student.
3. FAMILY FEAST/PALentines lunch for kindergarten, third grade and Mrs. Ellis' class will be this Friday. To save you time, please make sure you have had your ID scanned prior to Friday and make sure you prepay/RSVP for the lunch.
4.Thank goodness the weather has warmed up this week and most of the snow has melted. The last day to turn in NTI packets for DAYS 6, 7 and 8 will be Friday, February 20th.
5. SCHOOL IS IN SESSION Monday, February 16 (President's Day) this is a make up day
If you have any questions, concerns, or needs, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Have a great evening.

Hey Heartland- are you up for challenge?!
In hopes that tomorrow is our LAST NTI day, we thought we would challenge students with an attendance challenge. Here are the details!
1. Mrs. Heath will be live tomorrow at 8AM for her meet. You can access the meet with hesheath as the code. You will want to attend this as we have a surprise guest that will make an appearance at the end of Mrs, Heath's lesson.
2. While we know it can be difficult for students to attend their google meet, we do hope and want everyone to attend. Therefore, all students that attend their grade level google meet tomorrow for the whole time, will receive 25 extra points that will be added to their points to spend at the Bulldog Store. Preschool students will get to have a special snack with admin when we return to school.
3. All students should have already had packets for day 3, 4 and 5, therefore, all students that return DAYS 3, 4 and 5 packets on Monday (we hope) will receive an additional reward.
Let's make what we HOPE is our LAST NTI day count!
We hope to see everyone tomorrow.

1. For the 8AM meet, we plan on having a special guest appearance at the end of Mrs. Heath's lesson.
2. Those students that show up on your meet tomorrow will receive 25 attendance points to put towards their bulldog store balance. While we know not everyone will be able to get on a meet, we felt like this would be a little more reasonable. After each meet you should get a report of students that attended your meet, you will forward that to Mr. Mitchell and he will add the points for the students who attended your meet.
If you want to add to the "reward" feel free to do so, it is not required.
Hopefully this will be our last NTI day and we can really "play" it up.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
*Hardin County Schools will utilize Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
*Friday, February 6, 2026, will be a traditional SNOW DAY. That means that no instruction will be provided on that day.
We encourage our students, staff and families to listen to this message (see YouTube link) from HCS Superintendent Terrie Morgan. She answers some questions she has received about this prolonged time away from our physical classrooms: https://youtu.be/Sl03X8cC8es
