Hey Heartland- are you up for challenge?!
In hopes that tomorrow is our LAST NTI day, we thought we would challenge students with an attendance challenge. Here are the details!
1. Mrs. Heath will be live tomorrow at 8AM for her meet. You can access the meet with hesheath as the code. You will want to attend this as we have a surprise guest that will make an appearance at the end of Mrs, Heath's lesson.
2. While we know it can be difficult for students to attend their google meet, we do hope and want everyone to attend. Therefore, all students that attend their grade level google meet tomorrow for the whole time, will receive 25 extra points that will be added to their points to spend at the Bulldog Store. Preschool students will get to have a special snack with admin when we return to school.
3. All students should have already had packets for day 3, 4 and 5, therefore, all students that return DAYS 3, 4 and 5 packets on Monday (we hope) will receive an additional reward.
Let's make what we HOPE is our LAST NTI day count!
We hope to see everyone tomorrow.

1. For the 8AM meet, we plan on having a special guest appearance at the end of Mrs. Heath's lesson.
2. Those students that show up on your meet tomorrow will receive 25 attendance points to put towards their bulldog store balance. While we know not everyone will be able to get on a meet, we felt like this would be a little more reasonable. After each meet you should get a report of students that attended your meet, you will forward that to Mr. Mitchell and he will add the points for the students who attended your meet.
If you want to add to the "reward" feel free to do so, it is not required.
Hopefully this will be our last NTI day and we can really "play" it up.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
*Hardin County Schools will utilize Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
*Friday, February 6, 2026, will be a traditional SNOW DAY. That means that no instruction will be provided on that day.
We encourage our students, staff and families to listen to this message (see YouTube link) from HCS Superintendent Terrie Morgan. She answers some questions she has received about this prolonged time away from our physical classrooms: https://youtu.be/Sl03X8cC8es

Packets are being housed in two filing cabinets located outside of our main office entrance. Drawers are labeled by grade level.
Students still have the option of doing their work online or making copies of the packets.
We hope to see our students soon!
Stay safe and stay warm!
As you have probably heard, we are on NTI day 6 tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3rd.
Since not everyone has an NTI packet for Day 6, here will be some options for you to try. If these options do not work, please do not worry, we will work with you to ensure your child has an opportunity to make up the work.
1. Attend your designated Google meet. Teachers will be going over packet work with you.
2. Teachers will be sharing the packets online- if you are able to print your own copy, please do so. (students still have the option to do all the work online if they prefer)
3. If you are not able to print your own copy of the packet work, students can write their answers on a separate sheet of paper and send it back to school when they come back.
4. NTI packets are available at the school. We have placed grade level packets in filing cabinets outside the main entrance. Please note, our parking lot has not been plowed and is still very slick. Please know we are not expecting people to come get packets either, we just wanted to have them available in case a family wanted one.
5. If you are not able to do any of the above, teachers will give students a packet upon returning to school. Students will then have 10 school days to return completed packet work.
Since it was not originally planned to use NTI days past day 5- we will work with you to ensure all students have the opportunity to get their NTI work completed.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us or your child's teachers for questions or concerns.
Stay safe and warm.
HCS will conduct Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
